Paediatric Otolaryngology

Comprehensive and tailored ENT care for infants, children, and teenagers. He treats common conditions such as recurrent tonsillitis, enlarged tonsils and adenoids causing obstructive sleep apnoea, nasal obstruction and allergy, recurrent middle ear infections, glue ear, and hearing loss. Surgery performed where necessary includes tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, turbinate surgery and grommet insertion.

Rhinology & Sinus Surgery

Dr Hendriks provides surgical and non-surgical treatments for chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, and nasal obstruction. He offers functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) and septoplasty for patients with troublesome nasal symptoms to help improve breathing and restore sinus health. 

Head & Neck Surgery

Dr Hendriks subspecialty interest is in the field of head and neck surgery whereby he provides care for both benign and malignant conditions of the head and neck.  He also treats thyroid disease and skin cancers including BCC, SCC and melanoma.  Furthermore Dr Hendriks provides advanced microvascular reconstructive surgery following surgical treatment of these conditions.  Trained in both complex free flap and regional flap techniques, reconstruction is aimed at restoring form and function.  He has learnt and developed these techniques by some of the best surgeons in North America through his fellowship training with the American Head and Neck Society.

General ENT

Dr Hendriks offers treatments for everyday ENT conditions including snoring and sleep apnoea, salivary gland problems, sore throats and tonsillitis, and ear conditions. He has also completed specialised training in the United States in a newer treatment for sleep apnoea called hypoglossal nerve stimulation — a small device, similar to a pacemaker, that helps keep the airway open during sleep. This treatment isn’t yet available in Australia, but Dr Hendriks stays closely connected with international developments in the field and will be ready to offer it here as soon as it becomes available.

Thyroid Surgery

Dr. Thomas Hendriks provides expert care for thyroid conditions, including thyroid cancer, goitre, and benign thyroid disease. He offers thorough assessment and personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Using modern surgical techniques, Dr. Hendriks focuses on safe, effective care while supporting patients from consultation through recovery.

Cutaneous Malignancy

Dr. Thomas Hendriks provides specialist care for advanced skin cancers of the head and neck. He performs precise cancer removal with a focus on preserving function and appearance whenever possible. When reconstruction is needed, including cases involving the parotid gland, he uses advanced techniques to achieve the best possible functional and cosmetic outcomes while supporting patients throughout their treatment and recovery.

Salivary Gland Surgery

Dr. Thomas Hendriks provides expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of salivary gland conditions, including parotid tumours, submandibular gland disease, and both benign and malignant disorders. Using advanced surgical techniques, he focuses on removing disease while preserving important structures whenever possible. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual, with compassionate care and support from consultation through recovery.

Sleep Surgery

Surgical treatments such as nasal surgery, uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP), tongue channelling and tongue base surgery for obstructive sleep apnoea is offered by Dr Hendriks for patients who may not benefit from CPAP or other non-surgical therapies.  He also holds specialised training in hypoglossal nerve stimulation (completed in the United States), although not currently available in Australia, Dr Hendriks maintains this expertise and stays engaged with international developments in the field, ready to offer this option to Australian patients as availability evolves.
