Dr Hendriks is a Perth-trained Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon) and Head and Neck Surgeon, offering a broad scope of ENT expertise with a particular subspecialty interest in head and neck surgery.
He completed his medical training at The University of Western Australia and his Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgical training across Perth’s major tertiary hospitals. Following this, he worked as a consultant surgeon, further refining his skills in head and neck surgery and general ENT, with a dedicated paediatric ENT practice, before embarking on fellowship training. He then pursued advanced subspecialty training in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction, including selection for the South Carolina Sarah Cannon Head & Neck Fellowship in the United States of America — a high-volume, AHNS-accredited program working alongside leading experts in the field. Dr Hendriks was the first Australian ENT surgeon to complete this prestigious fellowship, gaining intensive experience in complex oncologic and reconstructive surgery as well as further skills in trans-oral robotic surgery (TORS) and advanced sleep surgery techniques.
Alongside his head and neck surgical work, his private practice encompasses paediatric ENT, rhinology and sinus surgery, and general ENT. He has a long-standing commitment to improving access to care for children in regional Western Australia, including outreach services to rural and at-risk communities throughout his surgical training and continuing since its completion. He remains dedicated to this work with regular outreach visits to the Goldfields region, seeing both adult and paediatric ENT patients.
Outside of work, Dr Hendriks’ time is spent with his wife, their two young children, and their dog. He is a keen traveller — especially to tropical, surf-friendly destinations — and enjoys running.
